Job Opportunity – Director of Sports Education @ United States Ski and Snowboard Association

June 04, 2016 – The Director of Sports Education is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive education and certification system designed to ensure USSA member clubs and coaches in all USSA sports have the resources and experiences to be the Best in the World.  This position drives the build out of the USSA Training Systems and facilitates the integration of the Training systems into USSA club, coach, parent and athlete educational offerings.

Primary Duties

– Provide overall leadership, direction and planning for the USSA Education System.
– Implement consistent curriculum and certification guidelines across all USSA sports.  This includes the development and ongoing management of baseline certification.
– Direct the development, communications and delivery of the USSA Club and Coach development and USSA training systems coordinating with the other departments (sports programs, science, medicine) of high performance.
– Assist in the ongoing development and management of the SkillsQuest program in all sport departments.
– Coordinate an integrated USSA club and coach member website with the USSA IT department.
– Coordinate major club and coach development/education/certification events: (National Coaches Academy, Club Excellence Conference, Fall coach symposium).
– Oversee the development and maintenance of sport educational resources through USSA and its strategic partners.
– Oversee club development curriculum, club visits, delivery and scheduling – as well as oversee all duties and objectives of the Club Development program.
– Oversees coaching clinic curriculum, instructor training, delivery and scheduling.
– Manage strategic alliances for education resources (USOC, ASEP, NCACE, PSIA, USASA, AASI, universities, etc.) and for club and coach member benefits (ski companies, USSA partners/sponsors, etc.)
– Manage the integration of coaches’ education within the USSA sport departments and national team staffs, and high performance department.
– Oversee USSA Education web content, including Center of Excellence TV channel, online coach journals, club resource center, etc.
– USSA Education department budget planning and management.

– Manage USSA club and coach awards and recognition
– Clinic instructor
– Other duties as assigned

This position works from the USSA training center/Center of Excellence.  Hours – 8:00 am – 5:00 pm weekdays.  Occasional weekend, early morning or evening work will be required to deliver sport science services, especially when traveling with teams.  This position is paid a salary and is exempt from overtime pay.
