January 08, 2014 (Battle Creek, MI) – With the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, only a month away, Kashi®, a natural foods pioneer, has launched its first-ever U.S. Olympic campaign, featuring cross-country skier and World Champion Kikkan Randall. Kashi’s partnership with Randall is supported by a fully integrated marketing program and will spread the word that living a healthy, positive lifestyle begins with eating right.

“Looking back on how I prepared for previous competitions, it’s amazing how my eating habits have evolved and become more progressive,” said Randall. “I’ve learned from experience that you can’t out-train bad nutrition, and – in teaming up with Kashi – I hope to inspire others to fuel up with delicious, real food as they pursue the things they love.”
As the 2014 Winter Olympic Games approach, Kashi invites consumers to follow the journey of Team USA to Sochi with nationally airing 15 and 30 second “Kikkan versus Kikkan” television spots. Randall also shares her eat positive story on the Kashi website and social media channels, and gives a sneak peek into her training regimen with the “Call of the Wild” online video footage.
Not only does this marketing program mark Kashi’s inaugural partnership with the United States Olympic Committee, but also the first time an athlete has been featured on one of its products, with Randall highlighted on limited edition GOLEAN® cereal boxes.
“We couldn’t have found a better partner in Kikkan,” said John King, Kashi marketing director. “As she gears up for her fourth Olympic Winter Games, her accomplishments provide proof that eating positive can deliver an edge. We hope Kikkan’s nutrition story will empower consumers on their own wellness journey.”
