With his diagnosis of Type I diabetes 10 years ago, that is certainly a danger for the U.S. Ski Team’s best distance Nordic skier, Kris Freeman
But in a recent interview with Meredith Vieira and Matt Lauer of the Today Show, Freeman is able to direct attention to his sport – its speed, its excitement, the good probability of winning medals, and, thanks to his photo shoot for the Olympic cover of Outside Magazine, the tremendous abdominal muscles cross-country skiing requires.
