April 23, 2018 – Finland’s Hans Mäenpää and Anni Angeria are unofficially the new men’s and women’s’ 24hr World Record holders for cross-country skiing. The attempt to break the world record recently took place from 9:00 a.m on April 12 to 9:00 a.m. April 13.
Mäenpää set the new record of 472.007 km beatin the previous record of 433 km held by Teemu Virtanen. The second world record also goes to Finland, thanks to Anni Angerie, who was able to ski 375.564 km in 24 hrs. She broke the previous record of the Czech skier Kamila Horakova (333 km).
