December 26, 2015 – The Crystal Nordic Pass program is a new partnership between the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association (USSA) and Cross Country Ski Areas Association (CCSAA). Similar to the USSA’s alpine Gold Pass program, which is in partnership with the NSAA, the newly created Crystal Pass is for the cross-country ski enthusiast and supporter and debuts in time for the 2015-2016 season.
Introducing the USSA/CCSAA Crystal Pass
The USSA/CCSAA will be offered to cross country enthusiasts to give them free access to participating resorts and areas. The USSA/CCSAA Crystal Pass owners can use their pass up to 50 days at each participating area. Proceeds go directly to the athletes of the USSA.
The Gold Pass program began in the 1970s and is a critical fundraising program for the USSA. The USSA uses the funding it raises from all of its fundraising programs to provide its athletes with access to the best coaching, training, sport medicine and technology, and educational opportunities. All of our team athletes have access to the USSA’s Center of Excellence national training and education facility. The 85,000-square foot Center of Excellence is a premiere high-performance athletic facility featuring strength-training areas, a gymnasium, ski and snowboarding ramps, trampolines, a nutrition center and recovery/rehabilitation facilities.
This year, we are expanding the national pass program to the cross country field. The Crystal Pass will be sold by USSA for $2,500 each and a maximum of 400 will be sold each season. The purchaser can share their USSA/CSSAA Crystal Pass any time, but only one individual can use it at one ski area per day. The USSA/CSSAA Crystal Pass will be the only transferable ski pass that is valid at participating cross country ski areas nationwide.

Might help sell the pass, if there was a list of xc ski centers that are available with the pass—thanks!
