If you want to be a part of this dynamic team next March, be sure to apply today! The USSA Junior Nationals is a great experience, for both our New England athletes, and the decicated coaches and wax techs who volunteer their time to share their talents with our team. Come join the fun! Link to application here.

Here is how you can be a part of this fun and rewarding experience…

Interested coaches should send the google doc application found here to Amie Smith, at amie@nensa.net by no later then September 30th. Trip dates are March 4- March 13th. YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE TO TRAVEL ON FRIDAY March 4th. The team will be flying into Minneapolis/Saint Paul that morning/early afternoon, and then driving in team vans 3 hours to Cable WI. Coaches must have active NENSA membership, and current USSA L100 coach certification IS required to be eligible to coach at USSA Junior Nationals (if you do not have one now – you must be willing to get it this fall).

NENSA is seeking applications for waxers, wax testers, and age group coaches.

The JN staff will have opportunities to work with other coaches from around the region, to inspire and motivate our top junior athletes and spend the week skiing on the famous Telemark Trails – home of the Berkie! The week is hard, but the rewards are many! And, it’s a lot of fun! The New England Team coaching staff is selected through an application process that aims to support our young athletes with a strong team, blending some of our most experienced coaches with those who are ready for this next level in their coaching career. A team of 50+ plus athletes takes a massive behind-the-scenes effort to ensure the athletes have the best experience they can once they arrive as a team. This is accomplished with the help of the community, and the coaches who volunteer their time for the week of Junior Nationals.

Coach Job Descriptions:

Waxers and wax testers- The wax cabin is where the magic happens and where NE gets their FAST skis! Wax testers will spend a good part of the day on skis, testing wax and structure, so good physical condition is necessary! Waxers should have an excellent knowledge of application. All wax team members may be called on to assist in other areas if the need arises.

Age Group coaches- Primary responsibility is to manage their group of athletes in all facets of the race week. Interaction with their group, ensuring that the athletes have up to date information about their races and training days, and what they need to recover and race their best. Age group coaches may be called on to assist in other areas if the need arises.
