November 06, 2014 – Check out these videos from TV2.no of Petter Northug’s sentencing details after he was found guilty of drunk driving following his May 3rd accident that totalled his car and injured his friend who was a passenger in the vehicle.

The first video features comments about the case from prominent individuals including FIS President Gian Franco Kasper and FIS Secretary-General Sarah Lewis, as well as footage from the accident scene and Northug arriving for his hearing – watch the video here.

In the second video we see Northug questioned about the incident and his statements. He accepted the judgment, waived his right to appeal and has apologized to his friend. The Norwegian XC star was sentenced to 50 days in prison, minus two days for time spent in custody, as well as being fined the equivalent to $30,000 US. More than 40 journalists were present in the courtroom including representatives from the Swedish press – watch the video here (in Norwegian).
