September 17, 2018 (Norway) – Norwegian manufacturer Rottefella is redefining cross-country bindings. The new binding system MOVE is the first that makes it possible to adjust the grip and glide while skiing, without releasing the skis from your boots.

“Over the last century, Rottefella has been driving innovation to increase the joy of skiing. Our new binding system might become as important to cross country skiing as the derailleur gears are to the bicycle today,” says Torstein Myklebostad, CEO of Rottefella.

Sufficient glide and proper grip are of absolute essence to experience the joy of skiing, no matter what level of skier you are. You don’t have to choose between optimal glide and optimal grip anymore. MOVE makes it possible to move the binding backwards for better glide when going downhill and to move it forward to ensure better grip on the climbs.

“You can easily move the binding without removing your skis, and with some practice you can even adjust the binding while racing downhill. Available on all ski brands
MOVE Switch is now available for all skiers and is compatible with all cross-country ski brands. The pre-sale of 2,000 MOVE bindings in 2017 quickly sold out. Hans Christer Holund, bronze medalist at the crosscountry 30-kilometer race in the Olympics in PyeongChang, tested the MOVE System last winter.

“Last season I tested the MOVE binding, and I think it’s a genius system. During long training sessions I started the work out with the binding in a backward position and adjusted it forward as the kick wax wore off to gain more grip,” says Holund.

The bindings are approved by FIS and can be used in all their competitions.

Better glide – no more backslips
The new system allows you to spend more time in the tracks and less time prepping skis. Rottefella MOVE works well both on waxless skin skis and regular skis that must be waxed.

Rottefella introduced their revolutionary the Move Switch moveable on-the-fly binding adaptor this past spring. The adaptor can be added to a binding and gives the ability to move the binding efficiently without removing your skis.

This has become essential, especially with the emergence of skin skis. Skin skis are opening up everyone’s eyes to the ease of going XC skiing without all the preparation. A half hour ski after work now makes sense.

Because the skins are set in one place on the base and because each skier can have different priorities as well as different terrain, it is important to be able to move the binding for the desired effect and little to no compromise compared to waxing.
