May 28, 2015 – The long-distance cross-country ski championship, Ski Classics, has had Swix as a title partner for the last three seasons but now they will go their separate ways. The Ski Classics is operated by SC long distance skiing AB which is owned by Vasaloppet, Birken and W Sportsmedia.

“The Ski Classics organisation would like to thank Swix for a successful cooperation over the last three seasons. During that period we have seen a fantastic growth of Ski Classics and the interest for long distance skiing in general.

“Swix has been an active and positive part in the development, and I would like to thank Swix and their CEO Ulf Bjerknes for his support in our development of the tour. Ski Classics are now looking for a new title partner, as well as color bib partners for Ski Classics. On June 18th we will launch the 2015/2016 calendar, which I can already now reveal will include at least one new interesting destination,” says David Nilsson, CEO Ski Classics.

“Swix Ski Classics have been a fantastic addition to the further  development of the XC ski industry. Dropping out as title sponsor, does not mean that we will not be investing strongly in the Swix Ski classics in the future. We will continue working together by supporting our teams and competing in the series. Further we also have direct cooperation with almost all the races in the series,” says Ulf Bjerknes, CEO Swix Sport Group.

The Ski Classics 2015/2016 calendar will be presented on June 18.
