December 17, 2012 – Birger Stromsheim, a Norwegian hero, died at the age of 101 in Alesund, Norway. Stromsheim is remembered for his part in WWII, during which he and a small team of Allies used skis to infiltrate a Nazi-occupied hydro facility in Norway, which was believed to be producing materials for building an atomic bomb.
