January 30, 2019 (Osrblie, Slovakia) – The next day Team Canada’s Leo Grandbois, Trevor Kiers, Adam Runnalls and Haldan Borglum claimed 11th in the men’s 4×7.5km race with two penalties and 11 spares as the relay competitions wrapped up at the 2019 IBU Youth/Junior World Championships in Osrblie, Slovakia. Team USA’s Vasek Cervenka, Lars Hammernes Leopold, Garrett Beckrich and Cody Johnson had three penalties and used 16 spares to finish 21st as Russia won gold with Germany second and Italy taking the third spot on the podium.

Canadians Emily Dickson, Nadia Moser and Larissa Black took home a strong 9th-place finish in the women’s 3 x 6km race using only five spares as France claimed the gold with just one spare round, followed by Germany in second and Sweden in third. The USA’s Chloe Levins, Maja Lapkass and Ariana Woods finished 21st with three penalties and seven spare rounds.
