Thunder Bay and Regina are Competing to Host the 2020 Special Olympics Winter Games

special-olympics-pep-rally.33July 24, 2017 (Thunder Bay, ON) – Local residents continue to show their support for Thunder Bay competing against Regina, Sask. to host the 2020 Special Olympics Winter Games. The successful city is expected to be announced the week of August 14 as these Games include eight sports — alpine skiing, 5-pin bowling, cross-country skiing, curling, figure skating, floor hockey, snowshoeing and speed skating — and require about 750 volunteers.
