“Tim was our number one candidate, and the whole team is very pleased that Tim will be joining our team in this important role” explained Eric Bailey, chair of the Hiring Committee. “Tim’s experience, knowledge, passion for the sport, and personality make him an excellent fit for our program”.
Tim will replace Victor Wiltmann as Assistant Coach in May and will join Head Coach Timo Puiras and Wax Technician/Equipment Manager Camille Chesky, and the 11-member Integrated Support Team to complete the 16/17 support team ant NDC-TBAY.
Victor has served NDC-TBAY in this role for 3 years and we are extremely grateful for his immense contribution to our program. Alongside Timo, he has ushered in a new era of performance, organization and race support at NDC-TBAY. We will miss Victor and wish him well in future endeavours.

Tim comes to Thunder Bay NDC with excitement, knowledge and passion for the sport of cross country skiing. He has been involved in coaching for more than 5 years with various roles such as working with grassroot programs in Northern Saskatchewan, Head coach at Augustana and Camrose ski club, to individually working with notable high-performance athletes such as Levi Nadlersmith.
Also one of the co-founders of Downtown Nordic, a Winnipeg-based cross-country ski team which won Manitoba club of the year 2013, Tim coached Team Manitoba at Canada Winter Games in 2011 and Team Alberta 2015. Most recently he coached numerous NDC athletes on the Jr B tour in Germany and Switzerland.
