May 05, 2016 (New Gloucester, Maine) – U.S. Biathlon is happy to announce the naming of five volunteer Regional Coordinators, one from each of U.S. Biathlon’s five regions: Alaska, West (CA, OR, WA), Rocky Mountain (UT, CO, ID, WY, MT), Mid West (MN, WI, MI), and East (NY, VT, NH, ME, MA). Each coordinator will connect with the U.S. Biathlon Chief of Sport on a monthly basis; coordinate training and education events, as well as race series in the region. The coordinator will also facilitate and promote participation in national events and competitions. This is an unpaid / volunteer position.
U.S. Biathlon wishes to thank following coordinators who will work in their regions to support the development of biathlon.

The first meeting of the coordinators will take place at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, May 6 to 8.
Job Description
– Point of contact for USBA as the Region Representative for the planning and coordination of Regional Development Camps and Regional Race Series as well as representing the needs and concerns of clubs in the region.
– The Coordinator is the official spokesperson for USBA in the Region and will regularly communicate with the clubs and programs in the region.
Main Tasks
– Attends to Elite Coaches Seminar in May and shares information with coaches in the Region
– Lead the scheduling process for Regional Development Camps and Regional Race series
– Works with USBA on promoting all biathlon activity in the region and nationally
– Communicates regularly with the Chief of Sport, at least monthly phone calls and emails as needed
– Organize and update regional coach and club contacts and networks
