U.S. Biathlon Names World Championships and IBU World Cup #9 Teams

February 16, 2016 (New Gloucester, MN) – Following the most successful week of World Cup racing ever by an American team last week in Presque Isle, Maine, U.S. Biathlon is proud to announce America’s team for the upcoming World Championships in Oslo, Norway, kicking off on March 2nd. The International Competition Committee also named the team for the final World Cup 9 in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia.

Below are the named athletes, including their previous World Championships and Olympic Games appearances. All eight members of the team have World Championships experience and seven of the athletes are Olympians.

Women

  • Annelies Cook (Saranac Lake, NY) – 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015; 2014 Olympian
  • Susan Dunklee (Barton, VT) – 2012, 2013, 2015; 2014 Olympian
  • Hannah Dreissigacker (Morrisville, VT) – 2013, 2015; 2014 Olympian
  • Clare Egan (Cape Elizabeth, ME) – 2015

Men

  • Lowell Bailey (Lake Placid, N.Y.) – 2003, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015; 2006, 2010, and 2014 3-time Olympian
  • Tim Burke (Paul Smiths, N.Y.) – 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015; 2006, 2010, and 2014 3-time Olympian

Join the team for a biathlon breakfast! Below find the start times for the competitions in Oslo, including an adjustment for Daylight Savings Time on March 13th. (All times U.S. Eastern Standard Time). NBC Sports will be covering the event. A detailed broadcast schedule will be posted by March 1.

  • Mar 5 – 8:30 AM – Women’s 7.5 km Sprint
  • Mar 6 – 7:30 AM – Men’s 12.5 km Pursuit
  • Mar 6 – 9:45 AM – Women’s 10 km Pursuit
  • Mar 9 – 9:30 AM – Women’s 15 km Individual
  • Mar 10 – 9:30 AM – Men’s 20 km Individual
  • Mar 11 – 9:30 AM – Women’s 4×6 km Relay
  • Mar 12 – 9:30 AM – Men’s 4×7.5 km Relay
