February 14, 2013 (Nove Mesto, CZE) – The USA’s Tim Burke from Paul Smiths, NY, has a spectacular day winning silver in the men’s 20km Individual event at the 2013 IBU World Championships in Nove Mesto, CZE on Thursday. This marks the first Biathlon World Championship medal for Team USA since Josh Thompson won silver in 1987 in Lake Placid, NY.
Tim posted a time of 50:06.5, with two penalties, to finish +23.5 seconds behind today’s winner and World Cup overall leader Martin Fourcade (FRA) with a time of 49:43.0 and one penalty. Fredrick Lindstrom (SWE) took third with a time of 50:16.7 and one penalty.
