Last week Vermont Bread Company and Newell solidified a two-year partnership that will run through the skier’s preparations for the 2018 Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.  Newell, who has long been an advocate of youth physical fitness, is excited about the opportunity.

“I’ve teamed up with a number of organizations over the years that focus on childhood exercise and health, and visiting with elementary schools is something I love to do. Nutrition is a huge part of youth health and fitness so I’m excited to partner up with Vermont Bread Company to help bring nutrition to the forefront of school health education.”

As a full-time professional athlete, Newell also relies on good nutrition to fuel his own training and racing and is excited to partner with a company that shares his values for environmentally conscious and wholesome ingredients.  Vermont Bread Company doesn’t use any artificial ingredients or high fructose corn syrup when creating their products. Newell, who spends much of the year training around Stratton, is a proud Vermonter and is enthusiastic about Vermont Bread Company’s commitment to local production and USDA Certified Organic breads.

“Just the other day I was visiting with their facility in Brattleboro and was blown away at the level of professionalism and care that goes into the baking process. I thought it was so cool that a lot of my favorite products like the all Organic English Muffins and Whole Wheat Cinnamon Raisin breads are made right here in Brattleboro, which is such an iconic Vermont town. Talk about buying local! I hope Vermonters will join me in supporting this amazing company.”
