November 19, 2015 – Ladies’ Nordic Combined keeps moving forward as the final competition calendar 2015/16 was released, featuring four different international competition opportunities in four countries.
In collaboration with the Organisation of the Ski Associations of the Alpine countries (OPA), two competitions each will be staged in Rastbüchl (GER) and in Tarvisio/Villach, the border region between Italy and Austria. At both venues, the Nordic Combined OPA competitions will be open to ladies’ of all nationalities, as well as having a category for boys.
Two more venues will unite the Nordic Combined ladies with their male counterparts in the FIS Youth Cups. Besides the winter Youth Cup premiere in Trondheim (NOR), Harrachov (CZE) is new on the calendar this season.
FIS Nordic Combined Race Director Lasse Ottesen stated: “We went from having one international event last winter to a total of four different competition opportunities for the ladies this season, in cooperation with the OPA organisation and two FIS Youth Cup events for boys and girls. This was only possible thanks to a great amount of dedication from the National Ski Associations involved. We hope that all nations will take advantage of these opportunities and send their athletes to compete at all events. We’re on a good track with ladies’ Nordic Combined and will continue to work towards our ambitious goals.”
