2001 Finnish Doping Scandal Update

April 03, 2011 (Helsinki, Finland) – The much awaited reopening this past week in the Helsinki District Court of the Finnish doping scandal from the 2001 World Cross Country ski championships regarding the now famous Finnish Six, with a new trial and new allegations, is making headlines in the Finnish press as expected.

Mika Myllylä, one of the six and one of the most famous Finnish skiers, acknowledged following his retirement that he was provided with EPO, which is part of the preliminary investigation material and will be made public despite demands by some of the defence counsel concerned about a fair trial that the material be kept confidential until the actual judgement.
