2011 TD Bank J2 National Invitational and Eastern High School Sites Announced

June 18, 2010 – Gunstock Nordic will host the TD Bank J2 National Invitational Championships in Gilford, NH, March 11-13th and Black Mountain in Rumford Maine will be the site of the TD Bank Eastern High School Championships, March 18-20th!

The Gunstock Clubhouse and newly designed trails have been the site of the BKL festival, TD Bank Eaastern Cup races and most recently, the Eastern High School Championships. Hosting the J2 Champs this winter will round out their regional event roster as they continue building on their history for outstanding snow, volunteers and events!

The Chisholm Ski Club is excited to be hosting theTD Bank Eastern High School Championships and continues to provide exccellent opportunities for events in the New England as wel as National ski community. Race orgnaizers are continuing to build on the trail homologation and are in the midst of making several upgrades to the trails and stadium in preparation for 2011 events. This will also be the site of the US National Championships in January 2011 and 2012, giving both aspiring and experienced New England racers a chance to go head to head with the best skiers in the country!

The TD Bank Eastern J2 National Invitationa Championship has an eighteen-year history of being one of the most exciting winter sporting events for youths anywhere. The four New England states and New York each qualify their fastest twenty 14-15 year old boys and girls. Four races ensue over 2 1/2 days. Seeded wave starts ensure match racing at its finest. This event will typically see invited entries from Intermountain Division (Idaho and Utah) and Canada who are scored head-to-head w/ New England athletes adding to the weekend of excitement for all participants.

The Eastern High School Championship is the premier event for high school and prep school racers in New England and New York. Competition in four races over 2-1/2 days, between states is highly competitive and media is attention is significant. The goal of the EHSC is to provide the highest quality competition for high school-aged athletes.

The J2 and Eastern High Championships are both invitational events with athletes qualifying through regional races. Team info can be found under the racing link at www.nensa.net.  Information from the event organizers will be posted later this summer and the website will be updated as info becomes available.
