January 18, 2011 (Crescent Lake, OR) – The 2nd annual SportHill Crescent Lake Challenge 14.1-mile cross-country ski race around Crescent Lake race was held Sunday, January 16.  Bend skiers dominated the standings but much of the Willamette Valley was represented as well as skiers from as far away as Vancouver, BC in Canada.

Ages ranged from Wally Ceccanese of Eugene, 11, up to Reider Peterson of Bend, 71.  Race director Jim Hill summed it up by saying: “It was wet but really fun, and fast.”  The overall winners  for a second year in a row, were Eric Martin of Bend who set a course record of 1:00:57 in the men’s race and Sarah Max of Bend who set a women’s course record of 1:11:23.
