November 10, 2008 – Bucky Broomhall, the man who pioneered the Bill Koch youth ski league was recently inducted in to the athletic Hall of Fame at his old alma mater, Western State College. The Bennington Banner reports that, “Broomhall attended Western State College from 1955-59, and was a member of the Nordic ski team for all four years. He helped the Mountaineers win NCAA Championships in ’56 and ’57, finished seventh in the nation in his senior year, and later went on to join the U.S. Olympic development team”.
