February 15, 2014 (Mont-Bleu, QC) – The 36th annual Gatineau Loppet kicked off today under overcast skies with good conditions and -8 degree temperature welcoming skiers from 25 countries. Colin Abbott from Whitehorse, Yukon won the men’s 51km CL race while Calgary’s Marlis Kromm, a national team skier, took the women’s competition. Both won by comfortable margins as 500+ skiers competed in the premier distance event.
