American Birkebeiner Trail Work Day – Volunteers Wanted on Saturday, August 9

August 4, 2008 – The construction of the last segment of the American Birkebeiner Classic Trail is in its final stages. We are hosting another work day on Saturday, August 9th from 9 a.m. to Noon. Volunteer help is needed once again to snip roots and remove rocks on the final section from Boedecker Road to Cty. OO.

Date: Saturday, August 9, 2008
Time: 9:00 a.m. – Noon
Location: Birkie Trail Crossing at Cty. Hwy. OO

All you need bring is a pair of gloves, water bottle, and a large branch lopper if you have one. Protective eyewear should also be worn. We will supply energy bars. Volunteers should meet at the Birkie Trail Crossing at Cty. Hwy. OO at 9:00 a.m.

Please contact the Birkie office by Thursday, August 7 at 715-634-5025, or ned@birkie.com if you are able to help “build the trail!” This will help us better plan and prepare for the day. We also want to remind you that the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation Annual Meeting will take place later that same evening. The Annual Meeting is being held 6:00 p.m. at the Cable Community Center. The evening starts with dinner followed by the Annual Meeting.
