November 26, 2008 – We have learned from reliable sources that top Swedish skier, Anders Sodergren, has been diagnosed with testicular cancer when a lump was discovered on his right testicle which doctors have removed. Sodergren is expected to recover fully and rejoin the Swedish team soon.

He recently won the 15km classic race in Bruksvallarna, Sweden on Nov. 16 one of several FIS races prior to the official World Cup season opener in Gallivare, Sweden on Nov. 22-23 where Sodergren did not race. Swedish xc ski legend, Gunde Svan, was reported to have commented, “That Anders will be ok is better news than Sweden winning the World Cup season openers in Gallivare.” We’ll have more updates on this story as they become available.
