December 1, 2007 (Kuusamo, Finland) – Norway’s Johann Kjoelstad led to the Swedes to the finish line Saturday in the second World Cup sprint of the season. American Andy Newell finished fourth.
Kjoelstad got the third win of his career by out-sprinting Swedes Emil Joensson and Mats Larson and Newell to the finish. Torin Koos was 22nd and Devon Kershaw had the top Canadian results, finishing 38th.
In the women’s 1.2 km classic race, Slovenian Petra Majdic won the women’s race with Norwegian world champion Astrid Jacobsen second and Alena Prochazdova of Slovakia third.
Alaskan Kikkan Randall was 16th and Canadian Olympic champion Chandra Crawford was 40th.
