July 24, 2010 (Wanaka, NZ) – Everyone made it down to New Zealand without any problems and believe it or not all of our baggage this time. The travel day was actually not very tough at all with an evening flight out of San Francisco and short lay-overs we were able to make it up to the snow farm in time for lunch and an afternoon ski on Tuesday.
It’s great to come back here and settle in to our usual rooms and gear up for a few weeks of serious training. With three days of training behind us the conditions have literally been perfect since the first afternoon. The past two mornings we’ve been striding on hard packed classic tracks with multi-grade kick wax under blue sunny skies. The only real set back we’ve had here on the farm has been the blowing up of my new Xbox power cord on day one… but our man Steve is hooking us up with an NZ version today so the gaming will be back in no time.![The skiing is unbelievable... It’s really been awesome to have the whole team back together training and hanging out together for the next few weeks. The plan right now is to put in some more distance training, a speed session, and some level 3 intervals over the next 3 days before we have our first off day to make sure we don’t over due it in the first week. Stay tuned for updates… and I have to do this to all you guys still out there roller-skiing… but check out the pics!![Sweet...
