October 9, 2008 (Anchorage, AK) – The APU Ski team members were all smiles yesterday as they took advantage of a record early snow fall. The mountains surrounding the Anchorage bowl were blanketed on Monday night with up to 10 inches of new snow and the team took full advantage to get some early season skiing in. Last year the team’s first ski day was October 15, about a one hour drive from the city at Hatcher’s Pass. Yesterday’s ski took place up at Glenn Alps, a high mountain valley overlooking Anchorage. The moose are in full “rut” at this time of year the the skiers shared the valley with no less than 40 moose.
