September 12, 2005 – It snowed at Silver Star Mountain this past Thursday! A couple of inches of the white stuff on the top of the mountain and on into the village greeted the staff when they came to work Friday AM. It is a way of the snow gods telling the mountain staff and the construction workers to get a move on, the skiers are coming!

I was was out for a Nordic Walk the other day on some of the new
trail additions to the lower XC trail net work. The boys on the cats
and excavators are doing a great job! These additions will be welcome
and will add more variety to an already great product.

The Night Sprints slated for Dec 6 in the Silver Star Mountain Resort
Village center are going to be an exciting addition to the Month of
Nordic festivities. We are just getting confirmation that Magnar
Dalen will be attending as the Technical Delegate and will be helping
us set up the event to world standards. As well, Magnar, who coached
the likes of Bjorn Dahlie of the Norwegian Team and Per Elofssn of
the Swedish, while here for the “Dash for Cash” at Silver Star
Mountain will also be available to the XC Camps. I know that folks
will want to hear about his views on training, on technique, on his
time with the athletes and his recent developments with Magnar Wax.

It is now time to make your bookings for the camps. Log on to the
camp web site at www.xccamps.ca {http://www.xccamps.ca} and fill in
the on-line registration form. That form will come to me, I keep a
copy to follow up from and then send it on to the hotel to reserve
your spot.
