July 05, 2016 (Australia) – The 2016 cross country ski completion season is well underway in Australia, with events held last weekend at both Perisher Valley in New South Wales and at Falls Creek in Victoria. Skiers enjoyed very good conditions with a firm base of over 50cm of snow at both resorts. Coming up in August, Australia will host five ANZ Continental Cup races over three weekends, starting with a classic sprint and a 5km/10km free technique at Perisher on the weekend of 6/7 August, then a free technique sprint and classic 10km/15km at Falls Creek on 20/21 August followed by the 42km Kangaroo Hoppet on August 27, also at Falls Creek. The ANZ Cup then moves to New Zealand for the final three events on 9,10,11 September.
