March 05, 2011 (Oslo, Norway) – American Nordic Combined Olympic gold medalist, Billy Demong from Vermontville, NY, is slated to compete in the final event of the 2011 Nordic World Championships on Sunday – the 50k freestyle technique – according to a recent release by USSA. Demong, a top level cross-country skier, will replace Kris Freeman who opted to sit out the 50km, and will join Noah Hoffman (Aspen, CO), Lars Flora (Anchorage) and Tad Elliott (Durango, CO), in the final event and may surprise the field.
