Cool in Yellow
This has been an unbelievable start to the season. Yellow jersey at the World Cup and only wins so far. I have never been this close to dreaming of such results. I had a goal to be fighting for top five positions at the start of the season. What’s the secret… many ask.
What I can say is that there has been very good training this summer and fall without injury or illness. I have worked hard with the technical elements in the tracks as well. Good physical fitness and good technical skiing are the right combinations to create fast skis.
In addition, I simply love cross-country skiing, and I’m enjoying life. It’s like that in sports – time goes faster than we realize as you try to build on what you’ve accomplished and work hard towards the next opportunity hoping to continue in the same fashion – obviously I cannot guarantee that – but that’s what makes sports exciting!
Our women’s team has been a lot of fun with many good performances. At the 10km skate race in Gallivare we had six girls among the top eleven finishers. I am pretty sure this has never happened before…. I’m bad at history 🙂 – fantastic results anyway. We are a team that works amazingly well together and without the other girls I would not be where I am today.
Now I’ll spend a few days in Oslo before travelling to Davos for altitude training before the next World Cup which starts in about one and a half weeks.
There will be plenty of exercise and relaxation.
Looking forward to it. 🙂
