Bjoern Dahlie is Back

release by FIS
June 16, 2010 – Bjoern Daehlie is back, this time as the architect of a new Sprint Cup that will take place in the spring, and includes city center circuits in Trondheim (NOR), Oestersund (SWE) and Aare (SWE).

The Sprint Cup will be staged at the end of the season and the courses will be located in three city centers, close to spectators.
“We want to create a pleasant end to the season where elite sprint athletes can gather to participate in high-class, professional races with substantial prize money,”said Daehlie.

It is also planned that there will be an opportunity for athletes to socialize in conjunction with the racing.
“Since I’ve finished my sprint career, I know that you do not have competitions of this kind. When the World Cup is finished you want to take part in a few races and combine it with social activities with other skiers,” said Peter Larsson.
