Bridger Ski Foundation Seeks Executive Director

June 03, 2010 (Bozeman, Montana) – The Bridger Ski Foundation is a nonprofit community organization based in Bozeman, Montana, that promotes athletic and personal excellence through educational and competitive programs in three Olympic ski disciplines. The Executive Director is a newly created position that recognizes the importance of aligning the entire organization toward this mission and values and building on the rich history of BSF.  In this role, you will report to the BSF Board.

You will provide daily and long term leadership and management of the BSF operations, including the athletic programs, development, fundraising, finance and administration, and policies and procedures.  You will manage the Program Director/Head Coach in each of the 3 disciplines, the grooming coordinator for the Nordic trails program and  Finance/Administrative personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilies:
– Translate mission and values into BSF operations and update strategic direction with Board annually.
– Prepare annual budget, manage the finances (with Finance/Admin manager) and review status with Board monthly.
– Work with Program Directors/Head Coaches to prepare annual capital plans designed to support long term program and venue requirements.
– Prepare and implement the annual development plan which includes athlete recruitment and fundraising.
– Provide direction and oversight to Program Directors/Head Coaches as needed.  We expect those individuals to be responsible for additional coach staffing, coach development, athlete development, inputs to budgets, operation of budgets, coordination with volunteer event organizers (ie race committees) and vision for the discipline.
– Establish administrative policies, update handbooks, forms, etc.
– Perform annual evaluations for Program Directors/Head Coach and administrative staff
– Develop community marketing and communications program, network with community partners.
– Oversee Nordic grooming operations.
– Coordinate scholarship programs.
– Ensure compliance with applicable state nonprofit laws and IRS charitable regulations.

– Passion around mission of organization
– Nonprofit experience a plus
– Ski competition experience a plus

Efficient Administration: Develop and maintain an administrative system which can efficiently service the needs of the program and its participants.
Communication: Promote communication with participants, parents and other stakeholders.
