by skitrax.com
January 15, 2011 (Lake Placid, NY) – Holly Brooks (APU) continues to be unstoppable as she claimed a decisive victory in the women’s 10km skate race on day 2 of the Lake Placid SuperTour which moved to the Mt. Van Hoevenberg site on Saturday for the final day of racing. Her APU team mate Kate Fitzgerald finished in second at 45s behind the leader with Evelyn Dong (XCO) from Oregon taking third. Conditions were good as cold temperatures greeted skiers once again with a light snowfall beginning at the end of the women’s race.

USST skier Noah Hoffman from Aspen, CO took the men’s 15km freestyle race with a solid win over Bryan Gregg (CXC) in second with New Hampshire’s Alex Howe (UVM) grabbing the final podium spot. The snow and wind picked up slightly during the men’s race but did not play a major role in the outcome. SuperTour leader Lars Flora (APU) did not start (more to follow) while Colin Rodgers (SVSEF) from Ketchum, ID finished fourth and Bryan Cook (CXC) from Rhinelander, WI was 5th.
