August 26, 2012 (Canmore, Alta.) – Canada’s cross-country ski athletes received a boost in their recovery thanks to a new partnership with iCool on Wednesday. As an Official Supplier, iCool will provide the National Ski Team with access to mobile ice baths which are critical in an elite cross-country ski athlete’s recovery after long training sessions or races.

“Ice baths are critical for our athletes following an intense workout,” said Tom Holland, high-performance director, Cross Country Canada. “Many times while travelling the world we are scrambling to fill tubs with buckets of ice to support the needs of our team members. iCool’s world-leading product will provide the necessary recovery our athletes need to be their best every day.”

Used by top athletes in more than 50 countries around the world, iCool designed and developed the first practical portable cooling system for ice baths. iCool’s technology provides athletes and sports specialists the ability to carry out ice bath recovery and training sessions both at home or in the field of play with great accuracy and consistency.

“We are proud to be able to offer the benefits of our knowledge in this emerging and exciting field of sports science to such a prestigious body as the Canadian National Cross-Country Ski Team,” said iCool’s Craig Cook. “As the supplier of choice to more than 31 countries in the London Olympics, iCool is in a unique position to gather and disseminate the accumulated knowledge that thousands of the world’s leading athletes have gained from their ongoing use of ice bath recovery therapy using iCool equipment.”
