November 10, 2015 – In light of more allegations of widespread doping in Russian athletics, Canadian national team cross-country skier Ivan Babikov told the Calgary Sun he believes that if banning all Russian athletes from competing in sport will help the country clean up its doping ways, it should be done.

Babikov’s perspective is unique, as the 35-year-old was born in Russia and started his skiing career in his native country before immigrating to Canada. “If I’m a Russian athlete and I’m clean, of course it’s going to be incredibly frustrating — you spend your whole life training for that moment, only to be kept from competition because others cheat. That’s awful for them,” Babikov told the Sun. Read the article here. Read our coverage about the Russian doping scandal here.
