Fresh, wet snow was the order of the day and Canada’s Brendan Green slogged out a 16th-place finish with a perfect day on the range as well. It was the 28-year-old Green’s first clean shooting day of the year.

“Brendan’s result is in-line with our expectations,” said Chris Lindsay, high-performance director, Canadian Biathlon Team. “He has a pattern of success later in the season and this is a planned step on the way to peaking at the World Championships in March.”

Fellow Canuck, Calgary’s Scott Gow, had his best World Cup result, cracking into the prestigious top-30 for just the second time of his young career. Gow, 24, also shot clean to chalk up a 27th-place result at 1:53.5 behind.

“It is fantastic to see the depth starting to show in our men’s field,” added Lindsay. “Three men in the top-40 is a metric that shows our status as a top-eight nation in the world. Now we need to see more consistency, and work on getting all four men in the top-40.”
