Canada’s Kershaw Places 3rd and 4th in Sweden

November 16, 2008 (Bruksvallarna, Sweden) – For the second day in a row Canada’s Devon Kershaw has posted solid results at his opening weekend of racing. In Saturday’s 15km classic race in Bruksvallarna, Sweden Kershaw took third place behind Anders Sodergren of Sweden, 1:05.7 back from the lead. Sodergren dominated the field in a winning time of 35:43.2. His fellow countrymen Johan Olsson was second just 13 seconds back, and the only racer to be within a minute of Sodergren. On Sunday, Kershaw again showed good form taking fourth place behind Sodergren who was a commanding 44.4 seconds ahead of Olsson. Marcus Hellner of Sweden bumped Kershaw for third just 48.8 seconds back. Consistent with his result from Saturday, Kershaw was just over one minute off the lead. According to Kershaw’s website – devonkershaw.com – through 9km he was in second place but got tight over the final kilometre’s and slid to fourth.
