Canadian Ski Marathon Kicks off Feb. 11-12 from Gatineau to Lachute

January 16, 2012 – The Canadian Ski Marathon (CSM) is a two-day, 160km classic-only ski event that is divided into five sections each day, with an average of 16 kilometres per section. One can ski as little as 12 kilometres or up to the maximum of 160 kilometres over the weekend. Skiers of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate and can do so safely.

Events range from the Mini-CSM, designed for loppet beginners, right up to the Coureur du Bois Gold category, which requires participants to ski the entire 160 kilometres while carrying a 5kg pack and sleeping outdoors on the Saturday night. Up to 2,000 skiers are expected to participate in the 46th edition of the annual event that was founded in 1967.
