Cash Purse Announced for 24 Hours of Sunlight Endurance Race

provided by 24 Hours of Sunlight

January 5, 2007 – What could make hiking, skiing or boarding for a good cause more enjoyable and rewarding? How about getting paid cash to do it? 24 Hours of Sunlight is proud to announce that there will be a cash purse for the pro categories in this year’s race! Along with the prizes and giveaways offered to all of this year’s racers, there will be the addition of a cash purse to be divided among first, second and third places, in each pro category. Pro categories include the Men’s Solo, Women’s Solo, and Duos. The purse is just another great incentive to participate in this amazing race.

The dollar amount of the cash purse will be determined by the amount received in pro’s registration fees. Essentially, the more pros that sign up to compete, the stiffer the competition and the larger the pay off. With big names like last year’s world record breaker, Greg Hill and legendary mountaineer, Andrew McLean competing, this field is already shaping up to be exceptionally fast and strong.

“We are proud to offer the cash purse this year. We think that it really cements the event as a professional level race for the pros who want to come out and break records and push the limit,” says Mike Marolt, famed Everest skier and founder of the 24 Hours of Sunlight event. “Of course, this will not affect the fun, enthusiastic overall atmosphere of the race for those that are competing for the cause or to break their personal best records. This race is still about supporting the community and getting out there and having a blast,” says Mary Kenyon, President of Real Time Marketing who is producing the event.

24 Hours of Sunlight is on February 3-4. If you haven’t signed up to race yet, there is still time! Gather your team or go solo and register here.
