Catamount Trail News – Donate, Annual Meeting, Upcoming Events

Our recipe includes hundreds of hard working volunteers, continuous community encouragement, successful winter events, help from Mother Nature, and support from dedicated members through our Annual Fundraising Campaign. Catamount Trail Association Annual Meeting – Nov. 16
Join us this Saturday, November 16th, at the Green Mountain Club Headquarters to celebrate 30 years of skiing on the CT as well as Jim Frederick’s retirement after 7 years of leadership. This past year has been very good to us with many successful events, trail improvements and 4 miles of newly protected trail.

We will also be hosting a panel and discussion concerned with the past, present and future of backcountry skiing here in Vermont! The event is free and open to the public.

Also, don’t forget about all of our Fall Trail Work Days! It’s a ton of work preparing 300 miles of trail for skiing. Upcoming work days include:

– Saturday, 11/30/13 – Section 25: Ryder Brook Golf Course to Elmore Mountain
– Saturday, 12/7/13 – Section 25: Elmore Mountain to Route 15
– Saturday, 12/7/13 – Section 1&2: MA Border to Route 9

Winter tours and events registration is open! The Ladies Nordic Ski Expo, Get Out and Backcountry Ski Festival, Catamount Trail Classic and all of our Multi-Day Tours are filling up fast. Don’t wait, and best of all, you can register for all events and tours online now! See you in the snow.

ELEVATION – Nov. 12
November 12 at The Savoy’s downstairs theater. Before resorts, lift tickets and overpriced pizza, there was adventure in skiing. Putting in the perspiration and inspiration leads to ELEVATION. Proceeds benefit US Ski Team member and Race To the Top of Vermont record holder, Liz Stephen on her path to the 2014 Winter Olympics! Check out all of the details here.

VALHALLA – Nov. 19
November 19 at The Savoy’s downstairs theater. Valhalla, Sweetgrass Productions’ fourth feature film, is the tale of one man’s search to rediscover the freedom of his youth. Valhalla is a vivid explosion of color, character, snow, and nostalgic soul. All proceeds will benefit the Catamount Trail Association. Click here for details.
