CCC Competition-Development (L2C) Dryland Workshop for Coaches

CCC Cross Cty SkiJuly 02, 2016 – Cross Country Canada is offering a ompetition-Development (L2C) Dryland Workshop for coaches from Sept. 8-11 at the University of Ottawa. An On Snow Comp-Dev. workshop will follow at a later date.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Thursday August 25th, 2016

DATES: Thursday September 8th, 2016 (09:00am) to Sunday September 11th, 2016 (5:00pm)

LOCATION: University of Ottawa, FSS building, Room 5025

REGISTRATION FEE:
400$ per coach (includes workshop materials, four complete days of training, 2 snacks per day); all other expenses are the responsibility of the participants. Coaches will be invoiced by CCC for registrations. Note that the workshop may be cancelled for lack of registrations.

PRE-REQUISITES:
Competition Introduction-Advanced (T2T) “trained” (both CCI-T2T dryland and on snow workshops completed).

COURSE CONTENT:
The course topics will include: Developing athletic abilities (energy systems development including strength training for L2C athletes); Analyzing technique (biomechanics analysis of ski technique); Performance planning (designing YTP for L2C). NST/NDC IST specialists will be attending the workshop and providing insight on training NST and training center athletes.

LOGISTICS:
Participants are responsible for booking their own flights, ground transportation and accommodation. For accommodation;

PRE-WORKSHOP MATERIALS AND ASSIGNMENT:

Upon receiving registrations, some reading materials and a pre-workshop assignment (mandatory) will be forwarded to participants with details and deadlines.

ON SNOW COMP-DEV WORKSHOP:

After completing the Dryland Comp-Dev. workshop, the next step will be getting started on the Comp-Dev. evaluations, completing the multi-sport Comp-Dev. modules (if not done already) and attending the On Snow Comp-Dev. workshop.
