CCC Seeks Site to Host 2011 World Junior / World U23 Championship Trials

April 06, 2010 – Cross Country Canada is inviting Clubs interested in hosting the 2011 World Junior and U23 Championships Trials to submit a letter of interest to CCC no later than Friday, April 7, 2010. This is a FIS sanctioned NorAm event. The current Technical Package located here should be used as reference. Please note that this document will be updated prior to the 2011 Competition Season to reflect best practices from the 2010 campaign. If interested contact ddyer@cccski.com.

Event Formats:
– 3 Competition Days over minimum of 4 days in early January to include:
– 10 / 15 interval start free technique – Open Class
– Sprint – classic technique – Senior and Junior Heats
– Pursuit 15/30 km open category; 10/20 km junior category

Letters of Interest should include:
– Profile information of proposed sprint course
– Track length of each leg of the pursuit course proposed and profile data
– Dimensions/map of stadium and other on site facilities including warm-up tracks, wax testing and wax facilities
– Names of Race Chair and Chief of Competition
– Recent hosting experience
– Indication of commitment to pursue course homologation

Please note that because the 2011 Ski Nationals are scheduled for Canmore, Alberta preference will be given to clubs located in Eastern Canada.
