CCC Selects Future Executive Director

provided by the CCC

November 9, 2005 – The Board of Directors of CCC is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with Mr. Al Maddox to succeed Bruce Jeffries in February 2006 as the Executive Director of the Association.

Bruce Jeffries has been Executive Director since April 2002, performing the duties on a volunteer basis. Acting on his recommendation that it was both timely and affordable for CCC to install a full-time Executive Director in the National Office in Canmore, the Board launched a job competition in August. The transition between Bruce and Al will take place during February and March, 2006.

Al Maddox is well known to the ski community for his numerous contributions to the sport: in the events and officiating sphere both domestically and internationally over the past 30 years; in his leadership of the Thunder Bay National Team Development Centre since its establishment in 1993; and in the position of senior representative for CCC with the FIS (International Ski Federation) since 1985. The Board is confident that Al has the right mix of leadership, experience and passion for our sport that is needed to ensure that CCC’s strategic plan is carried out effectively in the critical years leading to the 2010 Olympics/Paralympics.
