COC Congratulates RBC Financial on their Continued Support of the Olympic Movement in Canada

February 24, 2005 – The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC)
congratulates RBC Financial on being named the exclusive national banking
partner by the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and
Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC). Today s agreement will extend RBC’s
58-year relationship with the Olympic movement in Canada, one of the world’s longest Olympic partnerships, and will include the next four Olympic and
Paralympic Games including Vancouver 2010.

“In 1947 the Royal Bank had the vision to recognize the importance of
corporate support to young Canadian Olympians,” said Chris Rudge, COC CEO.
“RBC has a long history of supporting the Olympic movement in Canada
through championing athlete programs, supporting Olympic education and
athlete career mentoring. We look forward to continuing our good work with
RBC to further support our Canadian Team at Olympic Games.”

VANOC and RBC’s announcement marks the second corporate partnership
announcement by VANOC. In their agreement RBC has included amateur sport
investment, support for the Paralympics and First Nation’s community
development programs. Banking services and direct athlete support will
assist Canadian athletes leading up to, and during the next four Olympic
Games.

The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is a national, private, not-for-profit
organization committed to sport excellence. It is responsible for all
aspects of Canada’s involvement in the Olympic movement, including Canada’s
participation in the Olympic and Pan American Games and a wide variety of
programs that promote the Olympic Movement in Canada through cultural and
