February 19, 2011 (Hanover, NH) – On the first day of the TD Bank Eastern Cup Finals, Craftsbury Green Racing Project’s Hannah Dreissigacker grabbed the women’s victory with teammate Patrick O’Brien winning for men. Tyler Foulkes (Stratton) cemented his hold on the lead in the J2 Qualifier rankings with his win in the J2 Boys while Heidi Halvorsen from GMVS won the J2 Girls event.

The final weekend, and especially the final race of the TD Bank Eastern Cup and two-time defending national champion New England Junior Olympic Team qualifying always creates excitement.  There is something a bit magical about the course at the Cheri Walsh Memorial that always rewards the skiers who are going fast. Look for some really fast racing tomorrow as the top skiers from today return to action and junios scramble for those final spots on the team.

The TD Bank Eastern Cup Series concludes tomorrow with the TD Bank Cheri Walsh Memorial at Holderness School in Plymouth, NH.  At the conclusion of the day’s racing. the 2011 New England Junior Olympic Team and overall Eastern Cup Champions will be named.
