Croatia to Host World Cup Rollerski Weekend August 8-10

August 1, 2008 – It is now less than 10 days to the beginning of the FIS Rollerski World Championship in Croatia. This will be the fourth year in a row that the world’s best rollerskiers will come to Croatia, and that Ski club Oroslavje is a technical organizer of the race. FIS delegate of the race is Alessandro Landucci (Italia), national TD is Zarko Galjanic and race director is Albert Kontakt.

FIS Rollerski World Cup this year will start on Friday, August 8th with team arrival.

The next day on Saturday, August 9th, the first race is on schedule. That is an uphill race, 23 km long from centre of Stubicke Toplice to Sljeme (best known for Snow Queen Trophy, FIS alpine slalom World cup race). Race starts in 10.00 hours.

In the evening on main town square in Oroslavje will be the opening ceremony. Sunday, august 10th, is a sprint day. Day starts with qualifications in 9.00 hours, and at 11.00 hours will be the finals. After the race and prize giving ceremony, the race will be closed.
