October 9, 2005 – It’s time to start thinking about skiing again! Sovereign Lake is the first place you will be able to get on snow. Our clinic will be held on Nov 11 – 14 for volunteers and adaptive skiers. Cost will be $25 but meals are not included in that price. We are hoping to have one or two Canadian National Team members around to ski with and answer questions for part of the clinic. We have added a few new sessions this year as well. The new sessions will be on yoga, strength training, beginning waxing, skijoring with dogs, and an introduction to biathlon.
For disabled skiers who are planning to attend I will need to know the level and type of disability and whether or not you have a sled. Sleds will be on a first come first serve basis as we only have a limited supply.
Any one who would like to attend this clinic, please let me know by Oct. 15 2005.
I hope we can get lots of people out. It will be very beneficial and lots of fun!
There will also be a Community Coaching Workshop at Sovereign Lake Nordic Club on the same weekend. If any volunteers are interested in taking this you should contact me as soon as possible. There will be an Introduction to Community Coaching Workshop that will be held on Oct. 28 weekend that is a prerequisite to the Community Coaching Workshop. The Intro course is $50 and the Community Coaching Workshop is $65. The Community Coaching Workshop will also include sessions on working with disabled skiers.
Please call or email if you have any questions or to register.
