November 4, 2009 (Canmore, AB) – Canadian xc ski star Chandra Crawford is back in the hunt for Olympic hardware at the 2010 Games in Vancouver following her foot injury last season that forced her to miss the entire 2008/09 World Cup season due to a nagging tendon injury.
Following successful surgery for compartment syndrome earlier this year CTVolympics.ca is reporting that in her bid to return to Olympic cross-country skiing glory, Crawford’s been working with her ski sponsor Fischer in Ramsau, Austria in an unpublicized journey there to try and resolve the issue of continued discomfort.
“My problem is pain on my ankle bones,” she explained. “It seems that after all of this powerful skate-ski sprinting over the past 10 years … this tendon jumps up onto the ankle bone.”
